Continually working on fluency and comprehension by practicing reading skills
Spelling
Weekly spelling lists that include words from the reading series and a few challenging words as well
Pretests are usually on Wednesdays and final tests on Fridays
Daily practice of spelling words through the workbook pages and spelling games
Science
Topics that include both life science and physical science
Animals, Matter, Magnetism and Electricity, Weather, The Human Body Systems, Earth’s Land and Resources
Regular experiments that offer a “hands-on” chance to learn
Group work that encourages cooperation
Math
The Basics- addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
An extension of the operations- double digit multiplication, long division
Working with larger numbers
How to become great problem solvers
Measuring money, time, length, capacity
Graphing and Data
Geometry
Applying math to real life situations every day!
