MBVM Families,
The
Maternity BVM Student Council is an organization that teaches students the
value of working together to help our community. One of our goals is to help those less
fortunate in our community. We achieve this by having our Make-A-Change fundraiser.
Each month all students in Pre-k through 8th Grade donate money to
the selected organization in need by putting money in piggy banks located in
their classrooms. This monthly fundraiser is very important to our school
because it helps us learn the importance of helping others.
Another
goal that Student Council has is to organize fun events for other students in
the school. We plan events such as movie nights, holiday coloring contests, and
a jellybean guessing jar. These activities are planned for Kindergarten through
5th grade students.
Lastly,
Student Council has a goal to raise money for the 8th grade class
trip. Some events that help make this possible are donut sales, sucker sales,
junior high soc-hops, and sweatshirt sales.
The Student
Council members work together as a group to make sure all goals are achieved.
The students volunteer their own time and put a lot of effort into making
Student Council a success.
