"Cafeteria Style" Fundraising
The purpose of the Fund Development Committee is to find easy and manageable ways for school families to reach their fundraising goals. Family fundraising goals apply to those who have children in Kindergarten through 8th grade. If you have one child in school your fundraising commitment is $350. If you have two or more children in school your goal is $500. You have from May 1st - April 30th of the current school year to accomplish these goals. MBVM uses what we call a “Cafeteria” style approach to raising funds. With this approach families can pick and choose those fundraisers in which they wish to participate. One most important thing to remember is that if you exceed your family goal, 50% of that excess gets applied toward your tuition for the following school year.
You may choose not to participate in any of the fundraising options offered and may simply write your $350 or $500 check to MBVM to cover your family goal.
Fall Magazine and Candy Bar Sales:
QSP Fall Fundraising Program begins August 27th and ends September 12th. They offer a magazine sale and chocolate sale from the World’s Finest Chocolate Company. QSP offers a full 50% credit of your child’s total candy sales and a 40% credit of your child’s magazine sales. These amounts will count directly toward your family fundraising commitment.

Manna Program
The Manna program is a very easy to use gift certificate program. Gift certificates may be purchased for most area grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants and a wide variety of retail stores. The gift certificates are used at these establishments instead of cash or charge cards. Each vendor or retailer who participates in our Manna program contributes a percentage back to our school, which then gets applied to your family fundability account.
During the school year, Manna orders will be filled each school day. Simply send your order with payment to school with your child and it will be filled that same day. Your order will be sent home with your child or you may pick it up in the school office. Ordering regularly will help you reach your fundability commitment.
Market Day:
Market Day offers many food items in which you may order on a monthly basis. Order forms are sent home with your child each month. 10% of your order total is applied toward your family fundraising account. Each month the orders are picked up at the MBVM Parish Center. This generally takes place on the first Saturday of the month.
Approximately 15 volunteers are needed each month. Volunteer forms will be sent home throughout the school year. The time needed each month is only 2 hours. Any 8th grade students needing service hours for confirmation are also welcome to volunteer. In addition to forms being sent home, they can be picked up at Mass in the bulletin. Online orders are also taken by logging on to www.marketday.com.
