IESA Speech Contest 

Congratulations to our Junior High Students who worked so hard at their speeches!  They competed in the IESA Literary Contest and performed spectacularly taking 32 First Places and 7 Second Places.  Great job! We are proud of you!

ELECTION NEWS

Maternity BVM is buzzing about the election.  The election has been not only exciting, but a great learning experience for the students.  The highpoint was the Maternity BVM Presidential election.

Students at Maternity BVM voted on Mon Nov 3.  They participated in a online nationwide student election run by Studies Weekly in which students across the country voted for the future President.  After month of studying the campaign trail, debates and the issues, Maternity BVM had an all-school election where the junior high were election judges.  Every student had a voters registration card, voted using a laptop computer and even could participate in an exit poll. The results were then followed online at www.studiesweekly.com.  Of course, the students also followed up by watching the “real” election results on Tuesday and on Wednesday morning had post-election discussions and went online again to see election analysis.
