Review of Literature Guidelines
In the "Review of Literature," you share information about the scientific principles that relate to your experiment. This part of the Science Fair paper is not writtten as a discussion on your experiment.
The "Review of Literature" is a report that explains scientific principles.
For example, your experiment is designed to test a question:
"Will a plant grow taller if fertilizer is added to the water?"
Your "Review of Literature" may be written using references about plants. For example, you may decide to research the following:
a. The Plant Kingdom (Types of Plants/Classification of plants)
b. Plant Life Cycle (Steps of plant growth)
c. Plant Nutrition (What does a plant need to live?)
d. Photosynthesis (How does a plant make food?)
e. Plant Anatomy and Cells (What are the parts of a plant)
e. Uses for plants (Food, Medicine, etc.)
This part of the report is written after you have completed research and located references (using books, internet, magazines, experts.)
**References should be less than 10 years old and approved by the teacher**
